Vizrt to Demo Adobe Integration for Improved Editing and Production Workflows

At the International Broadcasting Convention (IBC)— held from September 12-17 in the RAI convention center in Amsterdam—Vizrt and Adobe® will demonstrate seamless integration between their products, enabling more streamlined and efficient video editing and production workflows. Vizrt and Adobe will conduct a live product demonstration at Vizrt’s IBC booth (Hall 7, Stand A10) on Monday, September 16, from 5:00 pm-6:00 pm.

During the media event, the two companies will showcase groundbreaking integration between the Viz Media Engine file-based media asset management (MAM) system and Adobe® Premiere® Pro CC software—an industry leading nonlinear editing system (NLE)— and Adobe® Anywhere, a collaborative workflow platform — resulting in a faster, more collaborative video editing experience.

Integration between Viz Media Engine, Adobe Premiere Pro CC and Adobe Anywhere

Viz Media now also integrates with Adobe Anywhere. This extends remote access to Viz Media Engine to not only include search, browse, and proxy editing – using our own tools – but now also Adobe Premiere Pro CC editing. Adobe Anywhere accesses full resolution files on Viz Media Engine and provides a viewing stream based on the available bandwidth to the NLE. Video and graphics rendering takes place on the Adobe Anywhere server, which fosters real-time collaboration and media file sharing between creative team members from any location with high-speed LAN or WAN connectivity.

Viz Media Engine manages the complex tasks associated with today’s file-based workflows including: transcoding, file ingest, scheduled ingest of live feeds, automation, metadata management, device adaption for tablets, mobile, CDNs and other distribution platforms.

Integration between Adobe Premiere Pro CC and Vizrt live graphics systems

Vizrt and Adobe will also demonstrate an Adobe Premiere Pro CC content panel that enables tighter integration between the Viz NLE—part of Viz Trio and Viz Content Pilot live graphics systems. Rather than burning graphics into video and rendering a final version of the clip within the Viz NLE, this Adobe Premiere Pro CC plug-in lets editors just save the graphics metadata with the newly edited video. The video and graphics elements are moved into the playlist or rundown for play-out to air.

As a result, people in the news control room can make last-minute changes to the graphics right up until they’re needed for the live show. The video and graphics elements can now be composited and rendered as finished clips when they are played out to air by Viz Trio or Viz Content Pilot live graphics systems.

Integration between Adobe After Effects CC and Viz Artist

Vizrt and Adobe will also demonstrate the Adobe After Effects® projects are used in Viz Artist, Vizrt’s 3D modeling and animation creation software. This first version of linking Adobe After Effects and Viz Artist converts text, images, some solids and camera tracks into Vizrt elements. Layers and compositions, which Vizrt currently cannot convert, are rendered into a clip, imported into the Vizrt Graphics Hub and tied to scene. All animations have the same time base as the clip.

“We’re extremely pleased to work with Adobe to provide seamless file-based workflows between our flagship products. Our mutual customer bases will benefit from the increased productivity, capabilities, and flexibility this Adobe/Vizrt integration affords,” said Petter Ole Jakobsen, chief technology officer for Vizrt. “Adobe is a natural partner for Vizrt because we both share the goal of empowering our customers creatively.”
