Insta360 has promised all that and more with the new Insta 360 ONE X The camera measures 4.5 inches by less than 2 inches by less than an inch. So it’s incredibly compact. I’m going to take it head to head against cameras that shoot similar resolution. Will it live up to its promises? All I can tell you is that so far, I’m impressed Hold on everyone; it may be a bumpy ride. And all of you that are interested in this camera I have started an INSTA360 ONE X Facebook page along with Mic Ty and Hugh Hou to keep you up to date on the evaluations.
Thank you from the Insta360 team for testing out this exclusive pre-release Insta360 ONE X.
We’re still perfecting the ONE X before launch, so you’ll likely run into bugs and unfinished features. Rest assured that these will be ready to go by the time the ONE X reaches consumers.
If you have any questions while you’re testing out the camera, just let us know. We’re excited to hear your feedback, and we can’t wait to see what you do with the camera.
Insta360 ONE X Experience Guide
This document gives a rundown of some of the highlights of the Insta360 ONE X. Combine this with the “User Guidelines” we shared, and you’ll know how to use the ONE X and some of the amazing things you can do with it.
1) Best-in-Class Resolution + Framerate
Super-high resolution is essential for 360. It gives you the flexibility to crop in on the best parts of your shots later on. The ONE X shoots best-in-class 5.7K video.
-5.7K 360 Video @30FPS
-18 MP Photos (the ONE X uses larger pixels for improved low-light shooting and image quality)
-50 FPS mode（4K）
-100 FPS mode (3K)
Gimbal-like stabilization. No gimbal. This opens up a huge range of possibilities: Action sports can be captured with flawless stabilization, all with a camera that fits in your palm. You can mount the ONE X anywhere and it will just shoot stable footage. (Seriously. Try mounting it on your dog.)
FlowState is not the crappy digital stabilization we’ve grown to expect. The advantages of a 360 camera let us achieve a level of stabilization that’s never been possible with a standard camera.
3)Shoot First, Point Later
The ONE X isn’t just about 360 video. It’s about changing the way we approach traditional photos and video. You don’t have to point your camera anymore.
Instead, the ONE X shoots in every direction at once, then you choose the best parts of your shot and create cinematic edits with our easy-to-use app. Try dropping points throughout your clip in the editing interface. The camera will follow along, panning smoothly to wherever you want.
4)TimeShift (Dynamic Slow-Mo Editing)
Control the playback speed for different parts of your clip on a whim. Slow it down to a halt, or speed it up to suit different parts of your scene – the app always keeps playback smooth.
Combine TimeShift with the freedom to shoot first and point later and the possibilities are endless. You have total control over both time and perspective in your edit.
5)The Invisible Selfie Stick
Just as it sounds. Put it on the stick, and the stick is gone. You’ve got a flying camera – a drone without the noise or bulk, thanks to our algorithm.
6)High-Res Bullet Time
The Insta360 ONE introduced the unique, orbiting bullet time effect that puts you at the center of an epic slow-mo shot. The ONE X takes it to the next degree with a wider field of view and a sharper 3K resolution.
7)High-Speed WiFi Preview + Transfer
The ONE X’s WiFi transmission is super-fast. You can get a real-time preview of your shots on your phone and then send over your footage in a snap. If you prefer, you can use a cable too – the ONE X’s includes transfer cables for both iOS and Android.
Easily edit together highlights from different clips straight in the app.
9)HDR + Versatile Shooting Modes
The One X can handle a whole range of unpredictable lighting due to HDR mode for photo and video. You can also manually tweak image settings to get the perfect shot (ISO, exposure value, white balance, shutter speed etc).
The ONE X is also ready for time-lapses, hyper lapses, interval shooting, and timed shots.
Two rugged cases for the One X, the Venture Case, and the Dive Case let you take it anywhere. The Venture Case is a tough shell for above-water shooting, which also gives protection if your ONE X gets splashed or dropped in water. The Dive Case opens up all new possibilities. Its special dome lenses allow for underwater 360 shooting, with a clean stitch. This is a big leap for 360 cameras, because of the challenges of underwater light refraction.
