Mile-High Video 2026 Publishes Full Agenda, Expanding Tutorials and Deep Technical Programming for Video Engineers

Denver, CO — 14 January 2026 — Taking place February 2–5, 2026, at The Cable Center in Denver, Colorado, the ACM Mile-High Video conference brings together practitioners and researchers from industry and academia to discuss advances in the state of media streaming and coding technologies. This is the 10th edition of the conference, and its 6th edition under the auspices of ACM SIGMM.

The agenda for ACM Mile-High Video 2026 features more than 50 peer-reviewed talks on cutting-edge topics. Beyond the traditional talks, an all-new engineer-oriented tutorial track has been added.

Mile-High Video has grown from its roots as a 4-hour MPEG DASH workshop in 2016 at the storied 30 Rock building into a multi-day technical forum where engineers, researchers, and industry leaders gather to shape the future of video technology. It is widely regarded as one of the most respected community-driven events in video technology with a considerable impact on the industry.

Program Highlights

The Mile-High Video 2026 program delivers a focused mix of foundational learning, advanced research, and real-world deployment experience, including:

  • Low-latency streaming, starting with the LL-HLS / LL-DASH / L3D-DASH basics to the use of new transport protocols (HTTP/2, HTTP/3) to greenfield techniques such as Media over QUIC
  • Video codecs for humans and AI, discussing AV2, VVC, and AV1 general purpose codecs, as well as coding for AI inference.
  • Advanced advertisement, covering signalling, server-guided ad insertion and the emerging field of non-linear advertisement
  • Control-plane technologies for adaptive streaming, CMCD, CMSD, and content steering
  • Workflows and resilience at scale, covering use of contribution protocols such as SRT and eRTMP, resilient origins for live streaming, and more
  • Expanded tutorial tracks for practicing engineers, covering video coding fundamentals, AV1, adaptive streaming, DASH development, DRM and watermarking, and advertising workflows.

Speakers include engineers and researchers from organizations such as Netflix, Google/YouTube, Akamai, Comcast, BBC, Dolby, NVIDIA, Samsung, Meta, Fraunhofer, as well as several leading academic institutions such as MIT.

Expanded Tutorials for Practicing Engineers

While tutorials have long been part of Mile-High Video, the 2026 edition places expanded emphasis on structured, multi-day tutorial tracks. Most of the tutorials are given by speakers who took an active part in developing the technology.

By pairing foundational instruction with advanced technical sessions, Mile-High Video 2026 enables attendees to both deepen core expertise and engage with cutting-edge practices and research within a single event.

A Community-Driven Technical Forum

Mile-High Video is intentionally designed as a practitioner-led forum, prioritizing open discussion, technical debate, and collaboration over product marketing. The conference attracts participants from broadcasters, streaming platforms, network operators, technology vendors, and research institutions actively shaping the future of video delivery.

Sponsors and Participation

The organizers thank the sponsors supporting Mile-High Video 2026 who are vital to sustaining an independent, engineering-first conference environment.

Additional exhibitor and sponsorship opportunities remain available for organizations aligned with advancing video streaming, compression, and media delivery technologies.

Registration for Mile-High Video 2026 is now open, and engineers, researchers, sponsors, and partners are encouraged to get involved.
