Mexico’s José Peón Contreras Theater Selects LynTec’s RPC Series Controllable Breaker Panel

The Intuitive and Simple RPC Series Power Control and Protection Panels Are the New Standard for Principal Consultant and Lighting Designer Aleksandar Lalicki

LENEXA, Kan. — July 15, 2020 — LynTec, a leading manufacturer of innovative electrical power control solutions for professional audio, video, and lighting systems, announced today that the RPC Series 341 remote control breaker panel is successfully installed at the José Peón Contreras Theater in Mérida, Mexico. Principal consultant and lighting designer Aleksandar Lalicki selected LynTec’s award-winning RPC breaker panel to deliver reliable, intelligent power control to the theater’s new LED lighting system.

“When my engineer and installer put in the LynTec panel for the first time, he told me, ‘Please don’t ever use relays and a switch panel with the breakers again. This is the spot-on solution, designed and built by engineers for engineers,'” said Lalicki. “Since then, with every new project that we’ve been involved with, we specify LynTec panels. In addition, we’re able to get the panels fast, within four weeks. We like to do things once and do them well, on time, and reliably — LynTec fits that philosophy.”

For the lighting design at Peón Contreras Theater — a classical opera house that dates back to the early 20th century — Lalicki brought in an abundance of lighting sources, including GLP X4 and Impression S350 LED moving heads. To control the new LED lights, he specified the LynTec RPC 341 remote control breaker panel to run both LED circuits and 220-volt moving light circuits. Eliminating the complications of installing and connecting custom-designed products and a separate relay panel, the RPC delivers reliable switching capabilities and simple circuit control and monitoring for the theater in one panel. The power control solution is built on the universally recognized G3 PowerlinkTM hardware platform by Square D, ensuring the panels are fast and easy to wire while providing additional circuit-switching control capabilities in the same enclosure, and granting flexible lighting and AV control across multiple control zones and multiple control protocols, including HTTP, Telnet, sACN, DMX, and RS-232. LynTec’s RPC panels support anywhere from 30 to 84 circuit breaker positions with no increase in enclosure width. Now, instead of having one dimmer per circuit and one plug per circuit, there’s one circuit that’s branched to four outlets to provide Peón with the comprehensive circuit-switching control it requires to manage and protect its LED lighting package.

“José Peón Contreras Theater is part of the fabric of what makes Mérida an amazing place to live and visit,” said Mark Bishop, president of LynTec. “This installation exemplifies how historic architecture and our modern power control solutions can come together to create a live event space that not only complements the performances but also overcomes any power issues that can impact the operation of newly installed audio, video, and lighting investments.”
