FLIX wins HPA Engineering Excellence Award

The HPA Awards honor excellence in post production and bring recognition to the achievements of individuals and companies who are engaged in significant and revolutionary work in post production.

This award for FLIX is given to both The Foundry and to Sony Pictures Imageworks, where FLIX was originally developed. Before The Foundry took over commercial development earlier this year, FLIX was used at Sony Pictures Imageworks since 2008 on more than 15 projects including the upcoming animated feature Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 (27th September).

FLIX is a web-based visual story development tool that allows creative collaborators including directors, editors, cinematographers, storyboard and previs artists to work together in one easy-to-access place. With FLIX, users can work together to hone and perfect ideas and concepts as they develop the visual story of a film or project.

The HPA Awards will take place on the evening of November 7th, 2013 at the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles, CA.
