Custom Consoles Announces EditOne Audio Desk

Custom Consoles announces addition to its EditOne range of studio furniture. The new EditOne Audio desk is designed to accommodate an Avid C24 control surface. It also incorporates desktop-level equipment bays at left and right. These can hold a total of six 1U chassis and provide platforms for flat-screen picture monitors, computer GUI displays or loudspeakers.

“The desks were developed to augment the audio facilities at the Madrid studios of Discovery Channel,” comments Custom Consoles Sales Manager Gary Fuller. “Like the established EditOne desk, EditOne Audio incorporates sculpted MDF support panels rather than metal legs. The curved theme is carried through to the desktop which is optimised for a centrally seated operator.”

Front and rear corners of the desk and auxiliary pedestal are curved, eliminating any possibility of collision with sharp protrusions and contributing to the ultra-modern styling. The worktop and monitor base also have hard-wearing and operator-friendly curved edges at front, sides and rear. Finish is in oak with contrasting black powder-coated MDF.

Full cable management is integral to the EditOne Audio desk. Power distribution is optional. An auxiliary equipment pedestal with an additional 11 units of rack space and an integral worktop is also available as an option. Desk dimensions are 2,400 millimetres wide, 1,140 mm front to back and 740 mm plus 3U high. Width including option 11U pedestal is 3,000 mm.

All furniture in the EditOne range can be shipped within days of order. It is despatched in compact flat-pack form for easy onsite assembly, saving space, cost and delivery time.
