It uses Nikon’s top-secret Nano Crystal Coating to help control flare and ghosting, and has two extra low dispersion elements inside as well (hence the letters ED in its title). Like any lens designed for professional use it has silent, fast auto-focus and an extremely solid build. It’s big, and it’s heavy, but its tack sharp and easily one of the best lenses Nikon — or any manufacturer for that matter — has ever produced.
