SonicPool Provides DVD Authoring for ‘The Band’

SonicPool Post Production has completed DVD authoring and menu design for The Band’s much anticipated “Live At The Academy of Music 1971” DVD.

The Band, ranked in the top 50 of the “100 Greatest Artists of All Time” by Rolling Stone Magazine, is releasing their legendary concert “Live At The Academy of Music 1971” on DVD. The DVD is part of a 4-CD collection that includes all four concerts performed during the final week of 1971, and contains a Stereo and 5.1 Surround mix of the concert, including additional film clips and rare photos of their electrifying performance.

The “Live at the Academy of Music 1971” DVD is the product of collaboration between Capitol Records (Universal), SonicPool Post Production and Bernie Grundman Mastering. Marcus Ionis of SonicPool Post Production says working with Capitol Records and Bernie Grundman has been an excellent experience. “Those two forces behind the project made the experience a great joy.”

Ionis also says the updated mix gives fans a chance to relive The Band’s iconic talent once again. “Hearing this updated mix will make the DVD experience come to life. Fans will truly appreciate hearing either mixes and will nearly relive the experience over again. It’s a definite value for any fan of The Band.”

SonicPool Post Production provided DVD and Blu-Ray authoring, menu design, coding and deliverables for the project. The DVD is scheduled for release in September, and will be available on Amazon.
