“Scouts Honor: Inside a Marching Brotherhood” is a new award-winning film documentary featuring the venerated Madison Scouts Drum & Bugle Corps, which celebrated its 75th anniversary in 2013. Director/producer Mac Smith and co-producer John “JT” Torrijos work for Skywalker Sound and the movie features a compelling story, captivating cinematography and breathtaking 5.1 surround sound. In addition to capturing life behind the scenes of one of the nation’s top drum and bugle corps, the film’s producers also offer a novel way for music educators to help raise much-needed funds for instruments, uniforms, travel expenses and other means to support their programs and enhance their students’ education. Schools can easily book a screening of “Scouts Honor” at any participating movie theater in their area and receive a share of the revenue raised at each successful screening.

“The ability to show screenings of this magnificent film in local theaters is a win-win for everyone,” said Roger Eaton, director of marketing, Band & Orchestral Division, Yamaha Corporation of America, the film’s official presenter. “This fundraising program provides an educational and entertaining event that is instructive not just for marching bands, but also for color guard, indoor percussion ensemble, drum corps, wind ensemble, orchestra, jazz band or concert band.”
