12Stone Church Selects FOR-A HVS-100 Portable Video Switchers for Use at New Remote Campuses

With a desire to reach into its surrounding communities and provide meaningful worship to its rapidly growing congregation of over 30,000 parishioners, Georgia-based 12Stone Church® sought to transform five area schools into houses of worship on Sunday mornings. One location could adapt the school gymnasium’s system, but the remaining locations called for identical production systems. Long-time technology partner Technical Innovation’s Blue Hat Design developed a comprehensive, innovative, portable solution that provided a complete A/V/L set-up in under an hour.  Key to the system’s overall design was a compact video switcher that would transport easily while providing a robust variety of video production features, and FOR-A’s HVS-100 portable video switcher was the perfect choice.

Blue Hat Design developed a comprehensive, portable solution that provides 12Stone Church’s remote campuses with a complete video production set-up in under an hour.

“We custom built four identical systems for 12Stone’s portable campuses, each of which contains full video, audio, and lighting production capabilities and includes a FOR-A HVS-100 switcher,” explained David Roche, project manager for systems integration firm Technical Innovation’s Blue Hat Design, TI’s award-winning team of industry experts focused on serving the needs of faith-based organizations. “The switchers provide flexibility and portability – essential project requirements since 12Stone needed to store the systems on-site, then roll them out and have them up and running in a short amount of time for their weekly productions.”

12Stone Church’s productions also benefit from the HVS-100 switcher’s large number of outputs available and the ability to execute transitions on the AUX bus, enabling its operators to switch separate feeds to stage monitors during services. The switcher’s clip memory feature in the still store, which supports playback of video and enhances productions through the use of CG wipes, is yet another advantage.

With the addition of these new satellite locations, 12Stone Church now has nine campuses throughout the Greater Atlanta area.

“Multi-campus churches are an exciting and emerging trend. We were inspired to meet this challenge, helping to bring engaging worship experiences to organizations outside the traditional church setting by offering some type of portable solution,” explains Michael Wright, President, TI Broadcast Solutions Group and Blue Hat Design.

The resulting AVL production system met the church’s goal of producing a concert-level experience consistent with their existing locations, including a live band, powerful sound, dynamic lighting and HD video capabilities. Wrights adds, “In partnership with FOR-A, TI is excited to have developed this integrated live production system that transforms any 100-500 seat venue into a house of worship within an hour, providing an exceptional worship experience in the heart of a community. We are also excited to have been recognized for this project by Commercial Integrator and Worship Tech Decisions, receiving their Integrator’s Award for the Best House of Worship Project for the second consecutive year.”
